FC Bayern Munchen (@2.4) vs Olimpia Milano (@1.57)

Our Prediction:

Olimpia Milano will win

FC Bayern Munchen – Olimpia Milano Match Prediction | 20-08-2019

The Millionaires have been producing splendid displays in pre-season and the fact that they outplayed Champions League winners Liverpool in a warm-up game is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of Saturdays football match. There will be fireworks when Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munchen, the two bitter rivals, face each other at Signal-Iduna-Park in the 2019 German Super Cup.

The Bundesliga champions have had a set of mixed preseason results. Namely, 3 of their 4 preparation games resulted in 3 or more goals. They won 2 games while losing and drawing apiece thus far in the summer. However, the Bavarian behemoths are coming off from a morale-boosting 3-1 win over Real Madrid and I see them continuing in the same rhythm on Wednesday. Niko Kovacs men have been rather prolific over the past couple of games as well.

Milano have won the title in three of the last six years. They couldnt get into the playoffs and progress further in the competition. But their showing in the Serie A has been much better. In the three seasons when they failed to win, they reached the semifinal in all of those. Last season Reyer Venezia trumped them in the final to win the Serie A. Just like Bayern, Olimpia Milano won 14 out of their 30 regular season games last season.

As far as the result is concerned, I am going to pick Bayern Munich to win this match. Bayern Munich and AC Milan are both big clubs and both teams have huge followings so we should expect a big crowd. Bayern are 2 games into their preseason and the team looks in good form. AC Milan are only playing their first game and the players are expected to be rusty.

Arsenal chiefs have not been very active in the summer transfer window, but coach Unai Emery still has a number of high-profile players to choose from. When the two sides met at the 2017 International Champions Cup the Gunners defeated the mighty Bavarians on penalties, meaning that the Bundesliga champions are hungry for revenge. All eyes will be on Dignity Health Sports Park when arsenal and Bayern Munchen take on each other at the 2019 International Champions Cup.

Highlighted Player (Alexandre Lacazette):

This goal gave him a reputation of a big game player, one he went on to uphold on various occasions at his club. The most prolific striker in his side and among the top ones in the Ligue 1, Alexandre Lacazette scored more than 20 league goals last two seasons on a trot. Lacazette is a hard working forward an accomplished finisher of the ball able to score from different positions.

Both these sides were neck to neck in the table last year. They could not reach the playoffs and were short by just one win. Their points differential was -56, which is not a solid number. Bayern finished 11th in the regular season courtesy of winning 14 out of their 30 league games. Bayern have not been able to dominate on the continental stage, but they have been prominent in the domestic spectrum.

Aside from the Bosnian, former NBA player Greg Monroe will suit up for Bayern Munich as well. Dedovic will be the key player again for Bayern Munich this season. Monroe has played in the NBA for about a decade and he made the move to Germany this year. His last NBA side was the Philadelphia 76ers. Bayern will hope to continue their domestic dominance, but continental progress will be one of the goals for next season as well.

However, seeing that Bayern Munchen are eager to return to winning ways after sharing the spoils with Kaiserslautern in their first warm-up game of the pre-season, we do not believe that home win should be considered. Niko Kovacs men want this win more than the Premier League side and seeing that the Gunners suit the German giants, we are tempted to put our money on the nominal visitors.

Niko Kovac did lose two of iconic players in Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, but the Bundesliga champions have plenty of talent to replace the two ageing stars. The 19-year-old will be the player I will keep my eye on. Moreover, Bayern Munchen ended up snapping one of Germanys biggest talents this summer in Jann-Fiete Arp. The Bavarians boast a strong squad which requires little to no tweaking this summer.
