Its been a week dominated by cup football, providing a welcome break after a hectic start to the league season.

MATCH PREVIEW: City vs. Spennymoor Town

Henderson will be looking to open his account for the season against City, having grabbed an assist on the opening day victory over Warrington. Henderson has been the top scorer for the highway men for the two of the three previous campaigns and will be looking to grab hold of the leagues golden boot this season. One to WatchThe one to watch for the newly promoted Morpeth Town is robust center forward Liam Henderson.

We had some good games against National League North opposition last season in the FA Trophy. We competed well against Guiseley over two games and won and I thought we played very well against Blyth. Were in a better position now than we were back then. Speaking to the Lancaster Guardian, Fell said: Its a great draw for us.

The visitors were packed with physically strong and tough players and took a two goal lead into the break, but a spirited second half display saw Blayne Hall pull one back four minutes after the interval. The Brewery Field hosted its second cup fixture of the week just 48 hours later when Moors younger generation were in FA Youth Cup action against Morpeth Town. A late goal finished any hopes of a comeback, but the side gained plaudits against tough opposition.

Betting Odds for Lancaster City vs Spennymoor Town

The striker netted all of Moors four goals including an audacious lob from just inside the opposition half. But, the young lads put in a fantastic display to cruise through to the next stage of the competition, albeit with a little help from Gavin Cogdon. Darlington Town would be no pushovers given their 2nd place status in the Wearside League, and that was showcased early on when Atkinson was forced into a superb save to keep the scores level. Managerial duties were handed over to Andy Lowe, Lewis Dickman and Mark Scott for the evening with youth being the key word.

One thing was for sure, they didnt struggle to hit the back of the net, scoring 18 goals during their pre-season. Recent FormMorpeth ended last season as the champions of the Northern East league. However, they endured some ups and downs in pre-season playing six games, winning three and losing three. With an opening day win Morpeth got their season underway in the right fashion.

The main star in the Spennymoor squad is another veteran midfielder, so it will be a battle in the middle on Saturday. Johnson is an experienced player who arguably runs the show for Spennymoor, but will he be able to get past Citys own experienced midfielder in David Norris? For the visiotrs, the problem areas are the forwards. Andrew Johnson has scored 4 goals for Spennymoor so far this season. Adam Boyes and, in-particular, James Roberts have both got 2 goals in their last 3 games. The 23-year-old Roberts is a youth product of Wycombe Wanderers and has also played at Oxford United, Chester and Barnet.

The experienced midfielder has been the main asset for City this season. The left-back has been playing incredible too, managing to get 1 goal and 2 assists so far this season, an impressive return from the defender. Alongside Norris is the equally impressive Jack Armer. Ones to WatchFor City, there is only one man to credit after the month he has had. The City Player of the Month, David Norris, has been in incredible form, scoring 7 goals already this season. Norris has been a key playmaker whilst also getting in on the goalscoring act too, showing his quality and class each week for the Dolly Blues.
