Sri Lanka – Lebanon Match Prediction | 16-10-2019 10:00

The captain and vice-captain are chosen assuming that India is going to bat first. As always, we will be updating our Dream11 team for Sri Lanka vs India ICC World Cup 2019 on Twitter after the toss. We have followed a simple strategy while making our Dream11 team for India vs Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2019. While both India and Sri Lanka have some brilliant batsmen, their bowling has been quite terrible in the world cup. This is why we have focused on the leading batsmen from both the teams and bowlers from only the Indian team. The pitch at Headingley is expected to be a bit slow and not the best for batting and the team batting first will have a big advantage. Follow @cricketbettings for the latest updates.

After being blown away by New Zealand in their campaign opener at Cardiff, Sri Lanka outplayed Afghanistan in a rain-curtailed encounter at the same ground. Sri Lanka have played eleven completed one-day internationals this year out of which they have won just two and lost the rest. They now have three points from the three matches they have played in the ongoing World Cup and are currently placed fifth in the league standings. Their previous match against Pakistan at Bristol, which is the venue for this game as well, had to be called-off due to rain without a ball bowled.

Sri Lanka -

Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka find themselves in a precarious position at the moment and both will look to give their all to improve their positions on the points table. Sri Lanka certainly have the upper hand in terms of head-to-head record in the format but it is Bangladesh who have the edge when it comes to recent performances. They do have plenty of quality players in the side but they have not been able to click together as a unit. The Lankans have struggled with the bat in these conditions until now and the loss of Nuwan Pradeep will further weaken their bowling attack. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have looked better in both batting and bowling departments which is why we are backing them to win this match.

They also have the upper hand due to their strong ODI record against Sri Lanka. Pakistan, after being thumped by the West Indies in their opening game, stunned tournament favorites England in their last game and that should really fire them up. Both the teams will draw confidence from wins in their respective last matches and will look to garner a couple more points.

Apart from these two, Sri Lanka's batting will rely heavily on Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera have by far looked the most impressive of all the Sri Lankan batsmen. The latter, after two consecutive ducks, will look to bounce back with a strong performance. While Karunaratne scored 52 against New Zealand, Perera smashed a brisk 78 last time against Afghanistan. The two are likely to open the batting again and the onus will be on them to provide a solid start to the innings.

Sri Lanka Inning 2

Pakistan's opening game in the ongoing World Cup 2019 was nothing less than a disaster, losing to the West Indies by seven wickets after their entire batting line-up folded for 105 inside 22 overs. The men in green, however, bounced back and put up a spirited performance in their last game against England to seal a 14-run victory. They have now played 16 completed one-day internationals this year out of which they have won three and lost the rest. Pakistan were handed a 0-5 and 0-4 thrashing by Australia and England respectively before coming into the World Cup.

Adding Avishka Fernando and Lahiru Thirimanne to the team means that we now have the top-order from both the teams scoring points for us. Batsmen: We have chosen Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Lokesh Rahul, Avishka Fernando, and Lahiru Thirimanne in our Dream11 team for this match. Indias top-order batting is very strong and could do the bulk of the scoring against a weak bowling attack like Sri Lanka.

Prior to the World Cup, Sri Lanka suffered 0-3 and 0-5 clean sweeps against New Zealand and South Africa respectively before beating Scotland in a two-match ODI series in Scotland. After a crushing ten-wicket loss to New Zealand in their World Cup campaign opener at Cardiff, Sri Lanka fought back to secure their first points in the tournament with a convincing 34-run win over Afghanistan in their previous match at the same venue. They now have two wins and nine losses in the eleven one-day internationals they have played so far this year.

India vs Sri Lanka Match Prediction: Who Will Win, IND or SL?

Coming off a win in their respective last matches, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will both look to build on their momentum when they face-off against each other in this game no. Live telecast is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM local time. 11 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The match will be played on June 7 at the County Ground in Bristol.

The Black Caps are one of the most balanced sides in world cricket with talent and experience available right through their lineup. Jeet Raval and Tom Latham have been in terrific form at the top in the longest format of the game, and with the likes of Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor to follow in the middle order, their top-order is as good as any.

The opening pair of Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera will hold the key to Sri Lanka's batting. Both batsmen have had a good hit in this World Cup - Karunaratne struck an unbeaten fifty against New Zealand while Perera scored 78 against Afghanistan. The team's batting also relies heavily on Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews. Sri Lanka will dearly need these two to step up and score some runs. The former has managed just two runs so far while the latter has returned two ducks in as many innings.
