Real Madrid will win

Villarreal – Real Madrid Match Prediction | 27-08-2019 15:00

For the third match in a row, they face a team in the relegation zone here with Villarreal enduring a torrid season so far. They sacked Javier Calleja and appointed Luis Garca as their new boss last month. The new man has at least had an extended period of nearly three weeks without a game to work with his side but his first game at the helm was a relatively unconvincing 2-2 draw with bottom club Huesca.

Can they repeat that impressive result again in order to clinch their Liga spot ahead of the next season? Theyre coming off a scoreless draw Huesca at home, but theyve secured some very good results on the road. El Submarino Amarillo was among the bottom-three sides during much of the campaign and have only won nine matches this season (W9, D13, L13) but theyve been impressive of late as theyre currently riding a four-game undefeated streak (W3, D1). Villarreal have not been able to secure their top-flight status ahead of the 2019/20 season, but they are quite comfortable when it comes to their relegation chances. Through 17 away matches, Villarreal own a W5, D5, L7 mark and have won each of their last two outings away from home. But that win came last season, when Villarreal registered a 1-0 win thanks to a Pablo Fornals goal. Playing at Santiago Bernabeu shouldnt be easy, however, as Villarreal have won just once at Real Madrids home venue starting from 1998.

The Yellows are eyeing their first win of the season, but grabbing something from the clash against the Spanish giants is easier said than done. Summer signing Eden Hazard is rated doubtful for the Villarreal game, but we still believe that away win should be considered. Real Madrid dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid at the weekend, meaning that they are desperate to return to winning ways in the national championship.

He often scores after set pieces and it has to be noted that he netted two goals for Real Madrid in all competitions in the 2014/2015 campaign. Varane plays for France national team, but he missed the 2016 European Championship finals through injury. Varane is very fast and he is a player with extraordinary aerial ability and the ability to read the game.

Their most recent league games both produced 1-0 wins but they were against the bottom two teams in the Primera Division as Real made hard work of seeing off both Huesca and Rayo Vallecano. Los Blancos start the new year with an 8 point gap to make up on leaders Barcelona and this is their single game in hand. The jury remains out on Santiago Solari, with his reign so far largely defined by Real Madrid winning matches without particularly playing well.
